How we make money
When you click certain links on our site and go on to apply for a product, we may earn a commission or referral fee from the provider. This comes at no additional cost to you — you pay the same as you would going to the provider directly.
What it does not affect
Commercial relationships do not influence our ratings, rankings, reviews or opinions. A provider cannot pay for a higher score, a better placement, or to have criticism removed. Our scoring method is explained on our How We Review page, and our editorial independence is set out in our Editorial Guidelines.
What we are — and aren’t
Debt & Finance is an independent educational and comparison resource. We are not a credit provider, lender, or registered debt counsellor, and we do not lend money or make credit decisions. We only feature providers registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR), but featuring a provider is not a recommendation that you use it.
Please verify before you apply
We work hard to keep information accurate, but rates, fees and terms change, and many are individualised to your circumstances. The figures that apply to you are those in your own quotation and credit agreement. Always read those documents and confirm the terms directly with the provider before applying.
Coverage
We don’t cover every provider in the market, and the order in which products appear may be influenced by commercial arrangements as well as our ratings. The presence or absence of a provider is not, by itself, an endorsement or criticism.
Your information
If you submit an enquiry through our site, your personal information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We will tell you at the point of collection how your information will be used.
